Baseball is one subject that I can talk about for hours. I have been playing the game since I was 6 years old. My entire childhood revolved around baseball. My folks always knew where to find me. I was very fortunate because I was actually quite good for my age. Always moved up to play with the older kids. I loved that. I’m fairly sure that is why I developed rather quickly. Playing all through high school and college. I think my greatest achievement on the ball field was the 3 years I spent in the Pirates organization. I wasn’t spectacular at all but how many folks can say they actually played on a Major League Team…GO BUCS
Baseball is Life
Like I said previously, I grew up playing the game. My grandpa used to play in Swissvale, PA. He even got to play some of the Negro league players. I would have loved to have met Sachel Paige, a real American hero like Roberto Clemente. My father also played, so did my brother. When I became a parent in April of 1981, my son just happened to love the game also.
Parenting and Coaching
I think as a player, a coach and a parent I can safely say that this was without a doubt the hardest time to cope and survive. Both my kids played, Matt played baseball and Emily played softball, both competitively. I coached my son because I coached the H.S team that he played on. Emily played softball in the same school so I coached her from the sidelines. The more I think back on it…yes it was very hard to juggle everything but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. The fun, the games the tournaments. I’ll cherish those memories for the rest of my life.
Now comes the best part, I’m retired and I can travel to be around and focus on all four of my grandkids as they all love the game. Both my grandsons Vince and Buddy are very much budding stars for their level. Mya and Emma are both very fine ball players in their own right. Mya is also a very serious volley ball player.
Listen up as I am very proud to be a part of this
Below you will see my “Wine Label”.
Why is this WINE LABEL so important to me?
Every year, as a company we have this awesome competition, by the way, anyone who is a member of DTCA is eligible to participate. The person who has the highest volume of sales and new members for our calendar year, receives their own wine label. This is probably one of the coolest things we do very year, other than wonderful corporate events. To me, one of the best things about this great contest is that you don’t have to be a super star. Just follow the steps and remember, it’s not a suggestion, it’s a system. I think I can safely say that if you are willing to be teachable and be too strong to give up on yourself you will definitely have all the tools and mentorship to enable you to be not only successful, but elevate your lifestyle in ways you have yet to imagine.
